Form 6.3 - Lower 6th - July '88
Theatre Studies. Effort (D) Attainment (D) Exam (C/D)
Bingo is a highly intelligent young man who, when 'roused' can express himself in both written and oral work with clarity and precision. However, he is easily satisfied and needs to be determined to achieve his full potential. Bingo must develop both his practical and academic skills by private study, wider reading and by gaining more experience of live theatre as both performer and observer. At the moment, Bingo is not doing himself justice. His performance in the final examinations will depend very much on his attitude to work and his determination to succeed. Joan Manley & Kaye Allen
European History Effort (C) Attainment (C) Exam 26%
Bingo has produced reasonable work this year, but his written work does not really match his oral contributions. I suspect this is due to limited background reading - something which is essential for 'A' Level. One of his exam essays was encouraging, but unfortunately he paced himself badly and did not complete the final essay, which accounts for the low grade. Bingo would benefit from developing a more disciplined approach to study. C. Bury
American History Effort (C) Attainment (C/B) Exam 55%
A more methodical and structural approach has resulted in a steady improvement in Bingo's work since Christmas. There is however an enormous gap between the standard of his oral and document work and that of his essays. Bingo's essay work still lacks the depth and detail necessary if he is to convince an examiner of his ability. Bingo sill needs to spend much more time on background reading and note making if he is to gain the high grade of which he is capable next year. N. Long
English Literature Effort (B) Attainment (B)
Bingo's consistency has improved as the year has gone on. His assignments are completed on time and done thoroughly. He has brought increased self-discipline to his work and his essays have been tighter and more controlled. His ability to discuss his ideas in lessons has been invaluable to the group. If he can keep up his current level of commitment, he will do well next year. J. Carpenter
English Effort (B) Attainment (B) Exam 68%
Bingo is an interested an enthusiastic pupil with a lot of natural ability in this subject. His recent examination script was very impressive. Bingo writes fluently and with perception, commenting on language and structure in poetry as well as meaning. This is the right approach. He has contributed fully in class oral work, often being the one to initiate discussion. Although Bingo has fallen behind with work in the past for various reasons, he has made a good effort to bring himself up to date. P. Dalgano
Form Tutor's Comments
Bingo's academic work has improved significantly during the latter part of the year while he has maintained a good contribution to school and 6th form life. The only worry appears to be in Theatre Studies where he is probably under-achieving due to over-confidence. Bingo has coped remarkably well with Glandular Fever - his work and performance don't seem to have suffered. If he can build on this year's foundation Bingo should do very well indeed next year and he must thing carefully about his options for higher education. J. Drake
Head of 6th Form's Comments
Bingo is an able student and a very colourful character but to get the most out of sixth form he must be more self-disciplined in his work. We wish him luck. M.J. Slattery
